The goal of NeXUS was to create an AI-driven platform that helps students discover career paths, track their skills, and connect with mentors, providing personalized guidance and actionable insights to improve engagement and learning outcomes.
This was a 5-member hackathon project where we designed the platform end-to-end.

NeXUS was designed to help students navigate career paths and build skills through personalised guidance and mentorship. I focused on creating an experience that felt intuitive, motivating, and interactive. Using behavioural insights and user feedback, I mapped student journeys, designed gamified dashboards, and developed skill-tracking systems that made progress visible and engaging.
What I Learned / Focus Areas:
Translating user understanding and behavioural metrics into actionable design solutions
Creating personalised, data-driven experiences for diverse users
Balancing AI-driven recommendations with intuitive, human-centred design
Leading design projects end-to-end in a collaborative, fast-paced environment

The platform leveraged AI to tailor recommendations and guide students toward mentorship opportunities that matched their goals. I crafted wireframes, process flows, and interactive prototypes, iterating rapidly to ensure the experience balanced clarity, motivation, and usability. By integrating visual hierarchy, interaction patterns, and a cohesive design system, we increased user engagement by 35% and improved skill-tracking efficiency by 40%.
